NEW TRAINING: New Autism Awareness Training - available now!
What is Autism?
It is a neurodevelopmental condition of variable severity with lifelong effects that can be recognised from early childhood, chiefly characterised by difficulties with social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behaviour.
What is the course?
This course was produced in conjunction with the Autism Education Trust (AET) who are a not-for-profit organisation and the only Department for Education supported provider of fully co-produced autism training for the education workforce.
The course aims to provide awareness on what autism is and re-explain many misconceptions, and the challenges autistic people can face, particularly in an education environment. They also offer some useful tips and approaches that may enable autistic children and young people to create a culture of inclusion in your education setting.
What is the need for the course?
When in education it is crucial to be up to date in anything that may occur in your job. One is helping someone with Autism. This can be a sensitive job with some training that can help the student’s education better.
How long:
This course has a mix of short videos, written information and questions to consolidate learning. It should take around 1 hour to complete. (This item contains the assignment: Autism Awareness)
